197 Nasarawa command Prisons personnel gain promotion

From Lawan Sunday, Lafia
Mr Emmanuel Okoro, Comptroller of Prisons, Nasarawa state Command said  a total of 197 prisons personnel of the state command have been promoted to new ranks of various categories.
He said this at promotion decoration ceremony which took place in Lafia.

According to him, a total of 89 Senior officers and 108 junior officers were promoted to various ranks from across prisons formations in the state.

Mr Okoro charged the newly promoted personnel to justify the confidence reposed in them by doing what is expected of them in their various formations and units.

He said that promoted personnel were found to be fit and meet all the requirements needed in the service, hence the promotion.

“As a person, I don’t expect anything from them other than what they have already known to be expected from the people who have been uplifted.

“There is a general saying, to whom much is given, much is expected, I expect them to understand the tortuous journey prior to this; none of the promoted officers is less than 10 years in the service.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted personnel, Joseph Namo, an Assistant Controller of Prisons, thanked the Prisons service and the Comptroller of Nasarawa state command for finding them worthy of the  honour done to them.

“As for us the promoted officers, the confidence the federal government has in us by promoting us will be justified by our hard work; we will redouble our efforts in the discharge our duties to our fatherland.” he said.
