Nasarawa, Russian corporation agree on Abuja-Keffi rail construction

Nasarawa State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russian rail transport giant, Transmashholding JSC on the development of the Abuja-Keffi railway line project. 
TMH is the largest manufacturer of locomotives and rail equipment in Russia and after merging with LocoTech service the fourth largest engineering company in transport technology globally. 
The MoU  was signed on the sidelines of the Russia Africa Summit in Sochi hosted by the Russian President  Vladimir Putin, kickstarting a cooperation between both parties to jointly explore the advancement of the transport sector which will have an immense impact on the economic development of Nasarawa State. 
Both parties will begin to work towards actualizing the purpose of the understanding. 
The Nasarawa State government was represented by Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Investment, Ibrahim Abdullahi while TMH Russia was represented by its CEO Kirill Lipa and Vice President Sergo Kurbanov.
