Nasarawa state government and the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress have agreed on modalities to ensure full payment of salaries to workers as opposed to percentage payment occasioned by revenue downturn. 
Adrressing the leadership of labour at the presidential lodge in Lafia yesterday,  Governor Abdullahi Sule welcomed the propsal for allocations to be kept if it cannot service complete payment of workers salaries until pending the receipt of another allocation to augment the shortfall. 
“I don’t believe in payment of percentage salaries to workers, and I am happy Labour has shown immense understanding in this regard. If allocation is not sufficient to pay full salaries, we will keep it and pay next month when another allocation comes”, the Governor said.
He also took liberty of the interaction to inform labour leaders in the state that eighty nine percent of teachers in public schools in the state are not ICT compliant which is a worrisome statement in an age driven by information technology.
The governor therefore expressed the readiness  of government to train and retrain staff in all cadres and departments, stating further that about 1,050 schools across the state are in bad shape needing urgent repairs and reconstruction. 
On the implementation of minimum wage and promotion entitlements,  the governor said government was waiting for the report of a committee set up to look into modalities of payment and the financial implication.
Governor Sule also revealed further that the Nasarawa state government has signed an agreement with Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority for the use of five hundred and seven hectares of arable land around Doma dam in Doma local government for irrigation farming which will be allocated to youths in the state.
