Scholarship: Student, Youth Groups Laud Dr. Faisal Shuaib’s Commitment to Education


A coalition of student and youth groups in Nasarawa State has commended the efforts of Dr. Faisal Shuaib for his continued commitment to improving educational opportunities in the state.
In a statement on Thursday, the leader of the group, Adamu Usman, commended Dr. Shuaib for his relentless drive to support students through various initiatives, particularly the newly launched 2024 Tertiary Education Scholarship under the Dr. Faisal Shuaib Foundation (DFS).
Usman, a final year student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, highlighted the importance of such efforts, noting that they come at a time when many students face financial challenges in pursuing higher education.
“Dr. Faisal’s dedication to uplifting the educational advancement in the state is commendable. His scholarship scheme have offered hope to many students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. It is clear that he understands the value of education as a tool for transforming lives,” he said.
When contacted, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, spoke about his passion for education and the need to give back to the community. He noted that the 2024 Tertiary Education Scholarship is aimed at providing financial assistance to students enrolled in federal and state universities, colleges of education, agriculture, and polytechnics across Nasarawa State.
“I believe that education is the foundation for personal and national development. Through this scholarship, we aim to provide opportunities for deserving students who may otherwise struggle to complete their studies due to financial constraints,” Dr. Faisal remarked.
He further stressed the importance of inclusivity, encouraging students with disabilities to apply. “Education should be accessible to all, including those with disabilities. Our foundation is committed to making sure that no student is left behind, and we strongly encourage students with disabilities to take advantage of this opportunity,” he added.
Aside from the scholarship, Dr. Faisal urged students and members of the public to explore the other initiatives of the foundation. By registering as volunteers on the foundation’s website, they can contribute to ongoing projects aimed at community development. “We are always looking for ways to engage the community, and we welcome volunteers who want to make a difference,” he said.
Dr. Faisal concluded by emphasizing the broader mission of the foundation, saying, “This scholarship is about more than just financial support—it’s about investing in the future of Nasarawa State. I urge all eligible students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to further their education.”
