Nasarawa Central bye-election: Tight security amidst social distancing challenges

Voting has commenced in Poling Units of Nasarawa Central Constituency. The process is sailing smoothly as electorates appear to be complying with the use of face masks. Enforcing social distancing is however challenging.

Officials of the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps and the Military are on ground.

The Nasarawa Central Constituency bye-election is the first election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is therefore a litmus test. Its success will further strengthen the electoral process in Nigeria.

People who cast their votes already have expressed satisfaction with the process.
