A mysterious fire has gutted a seven room-apartment in the popular B.A.D road located around the Rice Mill  of the Lafia Metropolis, destroying property worth over N7milliom  according to the owner.

Speaking with Eyewitness reporter, Aisha who is the member of the family  said the fire started at 11: 30 am  in one of the rooms and spread to the other rooms.

Speaking further, she added that she raised alarm, when she saw smoke and raging flame coming out from one of the rooms, which attracted the attention of neighbours and passersby

According to her, there was no electricity to spark up fire as electricity connected to the house was said to have been disconnected by the  Abuja  Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) because of her father’s inability to pay the bill.

A man simply identified as Ishaq commended the efforts of the community and Fire Service personnel that made several attempts to put out the inferno but to no avail.

“Although the community came out with water to put out the fire, their  efforts yielded no positive result as fire had already spread beyond control,” he said.

Speaking to newsmen, the owner of the property, Mr Isiaka Banda- Uwa said he was perplexed, saying that he has lost over N7 million to the inferno.

“In fact I am confused  right now, it is hard to believe that all that I laboured for for years have gone just in a day”.

“The property that were destroyed are more than N7 million as am talking to you now, l lost all that I labour for years, I have 18 children with 3 wives here, where will they live now that all I have is destroyed” he lamented.

Mr Banba-uwa, however appealed  to relevant authorities, especially Nasarawa state emergency management agency (NASEMA) and other spirited individuals to come to his aid.

Nasarawa State Fire service official, Dogora Dalhatu, has confirmed the fire incident, saying that remote and immediate cause of the inferno could not be ascertained by his men as at the time of filing this report.
