Former Speaker tasks INEC over equipment failure in Nasarawa bye-election

The former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, has tasked the Independent National Electoral Commission to properly upgrade and enhance the effectiveness of its electoral equipment and staff for the proper conduct of future elections in the country.

Speaking with newsmen in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State recently, the former Speaker expressed concern over the failure of some INEC equipments especially the card readers, saying that something positive must done urgently to forestall future occurrence.

He believes that taking such action would not only make the work easier but it would also restore and build the confidence of the people on the electoral umpire.

Hon. Mohammed who is now a chieftain of the APC commended the people of his constituency for their turnout during the election, particularly the women, stating that their peaceful and orderly conducts during the election was encouraging.

He therefore urged the people to continue to exhibit such spirit in subsequent elections with a view to always being carried along in the scheme of things in the state.
