Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and his Nasarawa state counterpart, Engr Abdullahi Sule, have agreed on a roadmap to stem the recurring crossborder crisis between the rwo states.

In a communique issued and signed  at the end of the meeting attended by security agents, traditional rulers and other stakeholders, the two governors also resolved that the two state deputy governors should swiftly  meet with the boundary commission to work on the boundary that would be convenient to the two states, 

They said boundary should not be seen as thing that divides people but for administrative convenience.

They expressed the hope that the boundary would address the conflicts between the  Fulani and natives and cautioned farmers and herdsmen not to take laws into their hands.

They called on security agents to ensure security at the borders by using community policing strategy.

They appreciated efforts of traditional rulers in enhancing peace warning that no livestock guard should cross  the borders into a Nasarawa state.

The two governors commended Presient Muhammadu Buhari for providing additional security in both Benue and Nasarawa  states.
