Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule Abdullahi has flagged off his re-election campaign in Toto Local Government Area of the state with a promise to bring companies that would invest in Marble exploration in Ugya the economic nerve centre of the area going forward.
He gave the assurance Monday November 28, 2022 at the Palace of the Ohimegye Opanda in Umaisha Development Area where the Governor paid traditional homage to HRH. Alhaji Usman Abdullahi and received his fatherly blessings before proceeding to Toto for the official flagg off of his re-election campaign.
The Governor said he will not go to sleep until he identifies and bring investors that would establish Marble Exploration and Polishing Company in Ugya so as to create job opportunities for the people of the area and for the overall development of the state.
He appreciated Mr. President for his continuous support which had helped the state dislodged bandits that wanted to use Toto as their safe haven through the joint military operation carried out across the area in the past and urge the people of the area to support the party that had brought them peace and tranquility.
Engineer Sule equally lauded the overwhelming support his administration had been receiving from the State House of Assembly through the Speaker which had made his job easy urging the people of the area to give him another chance to reel out more devidents of democracy by re-electing him as governor in 2023.
In his response, HRH. the Ohimegye Opanda of Umaisha – Alhaji Usman Abdullahi commended the Governor for reviving the long abandoned rural electrification project began in 1996 that was suppose to bring light to Toto and Umaisha.
The royal father explained that the provision of electricity to communities within and around Toto would go a long way in boosting the socio-economic activities and improve the standard of living of his people.
“ You have also dismantled Darul-Salam and other criminal elements and we are enjoying peace in Toto. Whether you come or not, we are with you at all times because of your peace efforts and other developmental strides ” the royal father assured.
The Ohimegye Opanda also honoured Engineer Abdullahi Sule with the traditional title of Sarki Yakin Opanda – meaning the ‘Warrior of Opanda Chiefdom’ for his unrelenting peace building initiatives as well as developmental projects in the area.
Away He from Umaisha. The Governor in his speech at the official flagg off of his re-election campaign project in Toto assured the people of the area of his commitment to initiate more projects and programmes that would improve the standard of living of the people of the state if given a second term in office as governor.
He explained that his administration had executed laudable programmes in the education and health sub-sectorrs, agriculture, empowerment, employment, security, and infrastructure among others and that he would continue to do more especially beyond 2023 when re-elected as governor.
“ When I went for royal blessings at Ohimegye’s Palace, the royal father, HRH, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi gave me the traditional title of Sarki Yakin Opanda meaning Warrior of Opanda Chiefdom for my security and peace building efforts and for bringing peace to Toto among other developmental strides ” Sule noted
Sule urged the people of the area not to allow people who have forgotten them in the past, only show up during campaign periods with empty promises to mislead them. He equally enjoined the people of Toto to support the Speaker of the State House of Assembly – Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi to enable him succeed his efforts to fast good governance.
