Gov Yahaya Dismisses Close Associates Over Extortion Allegation

By Chuwang Dungs, Gombe

Eyewitness, reliably gathered that Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, of Gombe state, few days ago dismissed, his relative and some of his close associates involved in a racketeering conspiracy to extort money from desperate politicians seeking political appointments

Our sources told Eyewitness that the racketeers took advantage of their closeness to the governor, to allegedly extort bribes from the politicians with the promise of recommending them to the governor for appointment.

Our source who claimed to be close to the governor said on hearing the story he gave them an order to stay away from him forthwith to serve as deterrent to others.

Our source further said the governor, who reportedly frowned at the unwarranted attitude of the fraudsters, especially from people he trusted, quoted the governor as telling them that: “He will not allow anybody, even his relatives to bring his government to disrepute.”
