Fellowship of Christian Nurses Nigeria ( FCN) have called on state and federal government to checkmate the irregularities happening in admission of new students into school of nursing for study.
President of the fellowship, Rev Ishaku Agara Izang made the call while addressing faithfuls during the 58th national annual conference of the group held in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital.
According to the president: ” Council should look into the matter of over admission often  occasioned by political influence, some students will have to remain for years before getting indexed in some instance over three years “
“If the trend goes unchecked, it may also be contributing to having non council certificated nurses who have dropped out of school after some minimal exposure spanning over along period invariably lead to quackery.
Izang  emphasised the need for the school of nursing to have admission procedure similar to that of other tertiary institutions in the country, as it will address the anomalies.
He  thanked government for moving collegiate method of nursing education calling on state government especially Nasarawa state, to intensify action in order not to lose accreditation.
The 58th National annual conference brought together Christian Nurses across the nation, began on 12th August and ended 16th August 2019.
