He has requisite knowledge to steer Nasarawa – Maku

Gubernatorial candidate of People’s Democratic Party(PDP)in the 2023 general election in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu has promised to restore Umaisha back to its glory days where the port located in the community was a thriving business hub for goods and services extending to as far as Cameroon, Delta State and other locations could access the port for commercial activities.
Ombugadu made promise at the flagoff of the PDP State and Presidential campaigns in Toto local government area, where a mammoth crowd received him, other candidates and the entire party structure.
The gubernatorial candidate who took stock of the demands of the people of Toto, responded to the issue of Umaisha losing its port status years ago and it restoration from the PDP government raised by Architect Ja’afar a former House of Representatives member and a former gubernatorial aspirant in the 2019 election under the APC , who recently decamped to PDP.
The governorship hopeful said the Umaisha port is capable of berthing light containers.
He added that his administration will dust the existing contract awarded but abandoned and give priority attention to the project.
Ombugadu decried the lack of electricity in Toto Local headquarters and many communities since 2015 and wondered how the people have been surviving, according to him, as a member of the Representatives, representing Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon, he had undertaken robust electrification projects that are still existing, saying if elected governor he will replicate same in Toto and communities with similar challenges.
On his part, the State chairman of PDP, Francis Orogu, commended Architect Jafaar for joining the PDP having seen the hardship Nigerians and the people of Nasarawa State have faced in the past years, saying the coming of Jafaar into the PDP will be a big blessing to the party even as the gubernaorial running mate is from the area.
Orogu said the Atiku/Okowa and Ombugadu/ Ohinoyi tickets as well other candidates of the party will bring succor to Nigerians.
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the campaign council in the State, former minister of Information and Culture, Labaran Maku, said Ombugadu has what it takes to govern Nasarawa having secured the ticket of the party where he contested among other aspirants who now have decided to work for the party for the success of all its candidates.
Goodwill messages were received from senator Suleiman Adokwe, Gen. Angbazo, Alhaji Muhammad Lawali amongst others.
The flagoff had in attendance political bigwigs in and outside the State, notable among them Nathasha Uduaghan a senatorial candidate in Kogi State.
