The Executive Chairman, Karu Local Government Council, Hon. Samuel Akala called summoned an emergency security meeting  over the rising spate of cultic activities and youth restiveness in the local government. 

Akala condemned the continuous activities of these criminal elements, stating that it is inimical to the general progress, growth and development of the Council.

He charged all heads of security agencies in Karu Local Government Area to live up to their constitutional responsibilities of ensuring peace and security of lives and property of the entire citizens of Karu Local Government Area.

He further observed that the activities of this criminal elements is been encouraged by some beer parlor vendors and other people operating illegal businesses in this area.

The Chairman enjoined the police and other security operatives to partner with the government of the day in regulating the activities of this criminal elements and their sympathisers.

Giving the security report, the Divisional Police Officer of New Nyanya Police Station said one life was lost in the last weekend’s violent activities of this deadly cult gangs. He said so far, over 17 arrests has been made and the suspects are presently in police custody helping with ongoing investigation.
