Nasarawa Assembly passes Into law College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia bill

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed
a Bill for a Law for the Establishment of College of Agriculture , Science and Technology, Lafia into law in order to boost agricultural activities, science and technical education in the state.

Rt Hon. Ibrahim -Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced the passage of the bill into law on Tuesday in Lafia after Hon Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the third reading of the bill.

Balarabe Abdullahi said that the law if finally assented to would boost agricultural activities, science and technical education thereby improving on the standard of living of the people of the state.

” A Bill for a Law for the Establishment of College of Agriculture , Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State third reading and passed”

” The law seek to change the name of College of Agriculture, Lafia to College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia due to the importance of science and technology to societal development.

“Apart from boosting food production, the law if assented to will also encourage science and technical education as well as will enable the institution assess special intervention from Federal Government and donors as other Tertiary institutions ,” he said.

He commended the lawmakers for their cooperation towards ensuring the passage of the bill into law.

The speaker directed the clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for Gov. Abdullahi Sule assent.

Earlier, Tanko Tunga while moving a motion for the passage of the bill into law urged his colleagues to support the bill to scale third reading.

Hon Danladi Jatau (PDP- Kokona West), the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion

The House unanimously passed the bill into law.
