Nasarawa Guber: APC Will Win Even If PDP, APGA Merge – Al-Makura

By Sunday Donatus, Lafia
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has said the APC will roundly win the forthcoming governorship election even if APGA and PDP join forces behind a single party and candidate.

The governor stated this yesterday in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, when addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were in the Government House to celebrate with him over his victory as senator elect of the state southern senatorial district, and as well as that of President Buhari at the polls in the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.
He expressed optimism that with the support the party enjoyed in last week’s presidential and national Assembly election,  it was clear that the APC has come to stay in the stay.
The governor said the oposition parties put together in the state is no threat to the APC winning the forthcoming governorship election, stating that: “we know what their plans are and we too are not losing sleep, even if the PDP and APGA come together they will lose togethertogether”.
the state has finally broken that jinx of President Muhammadu Buhari’s No-winning syndrome  in state  culminating in his last Saturday presidential election victory since 2003.

The governor who was overwhelmed at their victory said that he lacked words to express himself because the state has broken the jinx of President  Muhammadu Buhari losing Nasarawa state in its political history.

He said: “Today I am happy that Mr. President has won Nasarawa State because the state, been a state that is cosmopolitant and infiltrated by all kinds of differences, has become a very difficult state to deliver especially on the exercise like this because of sentiments of emotions and other things.”

“But since the beginning of political dispensation in 1999, we have not seen election that has become a game changer; a decisive factor in killings and burying politics of sentiments, emotions than the emergence of President Buhari as the winner of the presidential election in Nasarawa State.”

Al-Makura who thanked the people of Nasarawa State, especially those in the state southern senatorial district for electing him as a senator continued that, “the icing on the cake is the fact that Nasarawa State has not only delivered President Buhari, but all the three senatorial candidates of the APC.”

“This is the greatest thing that could happen to APC, not only in the state but the country at large because all the people that are elected as senators; Abdullahi Adamu, Godiya Akwashiki, and my humble self are people that are committed to work 100% with the ideals and visions of the president.”

“That goes to show that we will add our voice to all what the President is doing so that we will have a good synergy between the legislature and the executive when we get to the red chamber.”

Al-Makura added that another jinx that has been broken was that the APC now has three members out of the five House of Representatives seats in the state.

“This is an indication that Nasarawa State is totally and absolutely an APC state. This means that the election that is going to hold next is a foregone conclusion that APC will win,” the governor expressed optimistically.
