Nigerians will not tolerate rigging anymore, PDP BoT Chair tells INEC

The Chairman Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Walid Jibrin has stressed the need for an orderly and transparent conduct of future elections in the country saying Nigerians will not tolerate election rigging anymore.

Speaking with The Eyewitness correspondent during the Nasarawa Central by-election into the Nasarawa State House of Assembly in his country home at Marmara during the weekend, the BOT Chairman stressed that electoral process must always be devoid of complicity of any form meant to undermine the electoral process.

“In fact rigging, rancour and violence should never be added to electoral process because they are not part of it and as such the people should learn to be orderly and obey the rules with a view to make the country’s electoral system and the country great” he said.

He also advised the electoral umpire to ensure fairness and justice by conducting credible elections adding that INEC should always ensure that people’s votes count.
