PDP BOT chair knocks Orogu over the suspension of Sen. Ewuga, Onawo, others from party

Sen. Walid Jibrin , Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board Trustee (BOT) Chairman, has advised the members of the Nasarawa State Executive Committee of the party to immediately withdraw the suspension of Sen. Solomon Ewuga, former rep.Mohammed Onawo, among other members.

This, he said was in the interest of the party.

This is contained in a statement he issued and made available to the newsmen Keffi on Friday.

He has also assured all members of free, fair and transparent congress in the state, adding that their shall never be impunity in the party.

” In inspect of our PDP, National Working Committee ‘NWC’ to halt all party congresses and meetings due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria in line with the directives of the Government, Health authorities Religious and traditional rulers

” I see no any reason why some of our party leaders in Nasarawa state should embark on court cases and suspensions of some party members.

” Noting seriously how even the way mosques and Churches are closed for worship due to problem of COVID-19 problems affecting Nigeria resulting also to total lock out in many states.

“Therefore no any need for our party in Nasarawa state to involve in court cases and terminations of party members.

” Our NWC resolve to handle the case of COVID-19 first.

“Being the highest political leader in Nasarawa state and Chairman PDP Board of Trustees, I want to assure all PDP members in the state that the leaders and elders are seriously handling the issue in serious consultations with the NWC.

” Meanwhile I am advising that all cases in courts and suspensions to be withdrawn immediately to pave way for amicable resolution,” he said

Walid has assured all members of free, fair and transparent congress in the state.

It would be recalled that on March 24, 2020 that the Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended three prominent members of the party in the state.

Those suspended are former minister of State FCT, Sen. Solomon Ewuga, former minister of State for Justice, Barrister Musa Elayo and Alhaji Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, a former member of House of Representatives.

A statement signed by the state publicity secretary of the party, Muhammad Umar Bwala, said the trio was suspended for misconduct.

“The State Executive Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nasarawa State has met today the 24th March, 2020 and taken far reaching decisions after joint session with members of State Elders Forum.

That owing to the role of some elders of this party sponsoring crisis within the party, engaging in act of gross misconduct, Sentator Solomon Ewuga , Hon. Musa Elayo and Hon. Muhammed O.Onawo are hereby suspended from the party and also to face Standing Disciplinary Committee of the party,” Bwala said.
