For executing diverse developmental projects and initiating policies and programmes that are of immense benefits to youths and women in Sokoto State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has conferred an “”Award of Excellence and  Youth Empowerment'”, on the governor. 

Speaking while presenting the award, APC Deputy National Youth leader, Jamaluddeen Kabir,  said the award was in recognition of  Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s tireless efforts in the execution of myriad of  developmental projects and youth empowerment in the state. 

According to him, the governor has achieved so much in just one year in office, hence the need for the youth wing of the APC to appreciate these giant strides. 

In his submission, the APC Deputy National Youth leader said he is not surprised that the people of the state are calling the governor names such as, “”The Project Governor and The Alert Governor.

“You are truly  transforming the state with several projects and also pays salaries as and when due.” 

Jamaludeen further rated the governor’s  Transformative Agenda in the areas of infrastructure, youths empowerment, water supply, uplifting the standard of education, revamping the agricultural sector as well as boosting trade and commerce high. 

The Deputy National Youth leader also described governor Aliyu’s effort in tacking security challenges in the state as worthy of commendation, just as appealed to all and sundry to support the governor in that direction. 

Mr Jamalulldeen expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of Sokoto state governor and urged him not to only sustain the tempo but strive to do more. 

Responding to the award, governor Ahmed Aliyu thanked the Deputy National Youth leader saying he  will continue to execute meaningful projects for the development of the State.

The governor further  reassured the APC that his administration would work in line with the party’s manifesto aimed at making Nigeria better.
