From Sunday Donatus, Lafia
The governorship petitions tribunal sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa state, has thrown out the petition filed by candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)  challengimg the victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule of All Progressives Congress. 
Counsel to Labaran Maku Chia Victor disclosed  the intention of the party to appeal the judgement to newsmen after the court ruling on  in Lafia.
Earlier  in his rulling,  the Chairman of the Tribunal, Abba  Mohammed  threw out APGA’ s petition on the ground that the petitioner filed application for pre-hearing before the stipulated time as allowed by the law.

The counsel who said that he has already consulted his client, said that they would appeal the ruling in the court appeal.

He  claimed that they  filed their application for pre-hearing within the stipulated time because the respondents were served on different days.

The counsel also argued that the law has also stipulated that if there is application from respondents against any process, the right thing to do is to rule on it the same time judgment on the main matter is being delivered.

He therefore questioned the early ruling on the application by the respondents and said that they would challenge  the decision of the tribunal at the appeal court.

It would be recalled  that the APGA candidate, Labaran Maku  had filed a petition challenging the victory of Abdullahi Sule, Governor of Nasarawa State on the ground that the election did not meet the  requirement of the law. 
The APGA candidate  had approached the tribunal   seeking the cancellation of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state and order for a fresh poll.
