Usman Danfodio Varsity Graduates 167 First Class Students

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto has said it will be graduating 22,932 out of which 167 are first class in it’s combined 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st convocation

”Of these numbers according to the vice chancellor, Prof Lawal Bilbis, 18,644 will receive various Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates, 18, 217 will receive Bachelor’s Degrees and 427 will receive various certificate of higher degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas. Of this number, 296 will receive Doctoral Degrees, 1322 will receive Masters Degrees, while 2,670 will receive Post-Graduate Diplomas in their relevant programmes”.

Speaking further the Vice Chancellor, Professor Bilbis divulged that no fewer than aside the 167 that will be graduating with first class another 3,486 will be graduated with Second Class Upper, 9,573 with Second Class Lower while additional 15 had Pass Degrees.

Addressing newsmen Monday at the University Senate Chambers, the Vice Chancellor,Prof Bilbis noted that convocation does not stop at the euphoria of celebration of the academic achievements alone rather it provides an avenue for a sober reflection of the past, present and picture the expected future.

While noting that the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu will be presenting paper on, “”Navigating the Maze: Addressing Multi-Dimensional Insecurity Challenges In Northern Nigeria”, Prof Bilbis optimally submitted that he is optimistic that the security situation on Nigeria will soon be a thing of the past.

“”Nigeria is very closed to the end of the tunnel when peace will returned unhindered” he enthused.

According to him, the academics is working tirelessly to change the narration for good and help profile workable solutions to the entire challenges.
