Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State welcomed stakeholders from Ganye Chiefdom, led by Hon. Mohammed Inuwa Bassi, on a thank-you visit at the Government House in Yola. The visit was organized to express their gratitude for the Governor’s recent developmental strides and to celebrate his administration’s achievements.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Bassi lauded the creation of additional districts in the chiefdom, describing it as a “bold and visionary step” that would enhance governance, promote local participation, and amplify the voices of the people. He also commended the upgrading of the College of Agriculture in Ganye, calling it a monumental achievement with a transformative impact on the education sector.
The delegation included prominent figures such as former Deputy Governor Martin Babale, Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon. Mohammed Sadiq Wali, Commissioner for Environment Prof. Liman Tukur, and other notable stakeholders.
In his response, Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and the welfare of all communities in Adamawa State. He urged stakeholders to unite and collaborate on initiatives that would drive development in their chiefdom. “The creation of additional districts was aimed at promoting progress, deepening democracy, eliminating ungoverned spaces, and enhancing security,” the Governor said.
Governor Fintiri emphasized the crucial role of traditional institutions, stating that his administration had improved their standing through enhanced salaries and entitlements to empower them for effective service delivery. “Traditional institutions are our focal point for advice and a vital partner in governance. We have positioned them better than ever before,” he noted.
The Governor reaffirmed his resolve to uphold integrity and good governance. “I cannot be pressured into making the wrong decisions. My administration is committed to doing what is right for the people of Adamawa State,” he declared.
Addressing his appointees, Governor Fintiri advised against premature electioneering activities, reminding them that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had yet to authorize campaigns.
Governor Fintiri assured the Ganye Chiefdom of his dedication to their development. “I am a leader for all, and this government will work for everyone. I seek your continuous support as we strive to bring progress to every part of our state,” he concluded.
