The Director General of the Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, Senator John Danboyi, has expressed confidence that the party is going to win the 2019 governorship election in the state in a large margin.
Danboyi stated this recently in Garaku, the headquarters of Kokona Local Government Area of the state, when addressing journalists shortly after the state APC rounded up its governorship campaign in the western senatorial zone of the state with Kokona Local Government.
He said: “APC is going to win the election and we are going to win it in a large margin. We want to win it convincingly with the people who turnout for the APC campaign rally and we want to win it in peace. So all our elections, we wanted it to be carried out in peace, free and fair. We are working hard for it.”
“So far, so good, the western zone campaign is a success. We started last week and we are rounding up today. All the places we have visited; we started from Toto. In Toto, we were well received. I am sure most of you were there. Our campaign went round up to the development areas, and all those development areas we were also highly received.”
The APC governorship campaign DG continued that they had also visited the traditional rulers to seek their blessings and they had their blessings. “With that we are rounding up Kokona today; we are rounding up the western zone with Kokona today. You can see the large turnout in Garaku. This shows that in 2019 we are going to have, if not a high victory than what we had in 2015.”
He however expressed that in the course of the campaign council’s tour of the western zone, the party had encountered some challenges, adding that what they had done was that the party was very much aware that in politics one is bond to have challenges here and there because one is not the only one in the field.
“You have people that will try to sabotage you; who are also your opponents. We know how to deal with them. It is not something for the press. We know how to handle that. And we are revisiting the places that we think such issues arose.”
“Were you in Keffi yesterday? And if you were there, you saw what happened. Would that person ever try to do any anti-party again? So that is the way to handle things. We are all politicians and we have different ways of handling issues. So that is the way we felt to handle the Keffi issue yesterday,” he maintained.
