“… we will complete and handover the work in the next 3 weeks…” Contractors.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for embarking on massive construction/grading of rural roads in the State.

This, the House said would boost the agricultural and socio-economic development of communities and  the State at large.

Hon Mohammed Okpoku, Chairman , House Committee on NASIEC, Multilateral and Community Development gave the commendation when he led other members of the committee to inspect 12KM Ribi/Jangwa road in Awe Local Government Area of the state today.

Okpoko, who is the member representing Udege/ Loko Constituency said that the inspection was to assess the level of work done with the view of correcting any abnormalities if discovered.

 “We are here on an assessment visit in order  to see things for ourselves with the view of correcting any deviation, if discovered.

“The construction or the grading of the road is okay, the bridges construction are okay but a lot need to be done on the lateral, compactment and stone pitching.

“As the importance of road construction to societal development could not be overemphasized.

” Apart from linking communities, boosting agriculture, revenue base and the socio-economic activities  of our people.

” It will also improve on the general standard  of living of our people,” he said.

The lawmaker appreciated Gov. Sule for being up and doing in developing the State  through embaking on road constructions and other infrastructure across the State.

He assured of the committee’s readiness  to continue to embark on inspection visit to ensure that right things are done for the overall development  of the State.

Also Speaking,  Director General, Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development, Alhaji Mustapha Yahuza Musa 11 also lauded Gov. Sule for constructing the 12KM Ribi/Jangwa and other rural roads across the State.

He has also said that the construction of the road would improve on the standard of living of the rural dwellers.

The Director General said that the road would be completed/ ready  in the next three weeks.

Also speaking, Mr Alfred Ajagbe of Neuweg Construction Ltd, the contractors handling the project has assured that standard work would be done to ensure its durability.

Earlier the committee paid Homage to Sarkin Ribi Alh. Ibrahim Salihu Jarme where the Third Class Traditional Ruler Lauded the assembly for its proactiveness in oversight and other legislative activities and called for its sustenance.
