Barely a week after the political parties’ primaries for the 2023 general elections, the aspiration of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau state, Nentawe Yilwatda, got a major boost, as 5 renowned socio-political groups in the state have thrown their weight behind Nentawe and promised to work hard to ensure his victory, ahead of the next year’s election.

Chuwang Dungs, who was the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) media committee in the 2015 elections disclosed this to newsmen on Monday in Jos.

He said “we have been going around making consultations with some socio-political groups cutting across political parties and ethnic groups to tell them they need to give Nentawe their support for a secured, united, peaceful and prosperous Plateau.

He further disclosed that 5 of such groups have assured them of their support. ” They gave us the assurance that once the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) give the go-ahead for campaigns they will join us in full force.”

Asked to disclose the name of the groups, he said: “Is too early to do that, it is part of our strategy but when the time reaches you will see them during our campaign and they will speak to the press.”

Describing the governorship hopeful, as a bright and vibrant personality, who has the capacity, experience, and knowledge required to take Plateau to the greater height of development, Chuwang, noted that his decision to rally support for Nentawe is to ensure that we have a united force devoid of ethnic or religious sentiments to confront the tasks ahead .

“My decision to rally support for Nentawe was owing to his political experience and clean records as a former commissioner of INEC in Benue state, again he shared his plans with me and I was convinced that he is the right man for the job.”

“Unlike other pretenders for the big job, he is in the race prepared.” He added.
